Lovin Life

Wow, I didn't realize it had been a whole month between posts (again!)...I have a couple of interesting pics to post later of a praying mantis hanging around outside the door, but for now, it's just an update on our babydog.

Mystery's all done with her heartworm treatments--yay!!! She's done with bedrest & limited activity & now we're working her up to a full neighborhood walk. (We're only a block away from doing the full walk!) She LOVES it, and we've started taking her down to a little area trail for potty walks now, since she no longer has stay right next to the house.

She absolutely loves the outdoors & being in grass, etc. SheRa loved the outdoors because we were with her; Mystery doesn't care if we're there or not ;)

Unfortunately, our girl LOVES other dogs a bit too much, because she strains at the leash & cries her eyes out to try & get to them to play--but other dogs are a little put off by her enthusiasm, and a couple of the neighborhood dogs are scared of her now, even though she only wants to play. Sigh...SheRa was scared to death of other dogs and would growl, etc. to protect herself, and we always worried she'd hurt another dog out of fear & then get hurt herself. Now we worry that Mystery will get hurt by other dogs because she's so excited she doesn't notice when they're telling her to get away from them!

But she's a good dog overall, and very sweet to us and everyone she meets. She loves having guests over and shows off her manners pretty well when they're around. :)

We got her a harness and have been using that instead of a collar when she's on-leash...even though she's still a puller, the difference is incredible! She's much calmer, I have a lot more control, and it's actually fun to walk her now. Phew!! And I've been hearing that other people have the same issues with their otherwise well-trained dogs, so that helps a lot, too!

Thanks for reading, more to come soon! (And pictures!)
